Scene Five

Good characters walk in, whistling, suddenly Prince Charming refuses to go any further
Prince Charming:
Hold up. Hold up. Now I don’t know whether any of you luscious ladies have noticed but I simply have no damsel, to carry on my ‘quest’ with, so no I am putting my foot down! I shall NOT carry on unless this is sorted!

Fairy Godmother:
I believe I have just the trick! Allow me! (Waves wand, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood run off so that they can each come on one at a time. Fairy Gee gestures for Take Me Out podiums to be brought on by people) See! Magic!

Cinderella:
(shouts from offstage) Not really… those people just carried that on for you…


Fairy Godmother:
Nonsense dear! It was magic, all magic! Me, doing magic! Magically! …Magic! …RIGHT! Hello and good evening! Welcome to tonight’s show, where we try to find a beautiful damsel to stand by the side of our darling Prince Charming! Let’s bring out our contestants shall we?!

Cinderella enters and stands at a podium, she comes in to Barbie Girl by Aqua
Fairy Godmother:
First up we have Cinderella! The original little princess, will she be the one to steal away our Prince Charmings heart?! She loves glass slippers, long walks on the beach and Princes with lots of money and dashing good looks!
Little Red Riding Hood enters and stands at a podium, she comes in to Howl by Florence & The Machine
Fairy Godmother:
Next we have Little Red Riding Hood, she may look innocent with that sweet face and that basket of cookies for her grandma, but don’t be mistaken, she’s got a fiery personality! She enjoys walks through the forest, visiting her grandma, and not being eaten by wolves!
Rapunzel enters and stands at a podium, she comes in to Whip My Hair by Willow Smith.

Fairy Godmother:
And here we have Rapunzel! The long haired beauty locked away in a castle, will she be the damsel in distress for you? She enjoys brushing her long blonde hair, plaiting her long blonde hair, braiding her long blonde hair… and karate.
Snow White enters, but as she gets to the podium, the red queen comes on and picks her up and carries her away, taking her place.
Fairy Godmother:
And… next we have… Snow White? …I think the less said about that, the better… SO! Now allow me to introduce to you, the handsome warrior himself, the mighty, pr-

Prince Charming:
(From offstage) Don’t forget handsome!
Fairy Godmother:
The mighty, handsome pr-

Prince Charming:
And fabulous!

Fairy Godmother:
The mighty, handsome, fabulous, pr-

Prince Charming:
And talented!

Fairy Godmother:
Are you quite done?

Prince Charming:
(Long pause) …Yes.

Fairy Godmother:
The mighty, handsome, fabulous, and talented… Prince Charming!

Prince Charming:
(enters and struts around the stage to the song I Love Myself by The Wannadies)

Fairy Godmother:
Prince Charming everyone! He enj-
Prince Charming:
I love romantic candle lit dinners, saving damsels from their distress, being handsome and macho and damnably sexy! Not to mention I have the voice of an angel! Allow me to treat your ears to heavenly sounds… (signals for the lights to be dimmed, and him being in the spotlight before then singing very badly to a song, causing Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood to immediately loose interest.)

Fairy Godmother:
Oh my Charming, it seems that rather… unique performance has cost you both Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood!! So now it’s up to you to make a choice! Choose carefully!

Charming seems indecisive between the two remaining choice, before finally choosing Cinderella, whilst this is happening, the bad characters are sneaking on stage, behind Alice.

Fairy Godmother:
Well there you have it everyone, it looks as though it’s going to be a classic fairy tale couple!

Cinderella:
Oh Charming!

Prince Charming:
Oh Cinderella!


Cinderella:
Fairy Gee, I can’t be seen with Prince Charming wearing this old rags! Quick, I need a new dress!

Fairy Gee:
I believe I have just the thing, but I can’t do it on my own! I’m going to need help from the audience! (Lyric board is brought on) Now, we’ll sing through the song once, and then I want to hear you all singing along loudly! If you don’t, I’ll never be able to work my magic on Cinderella’s dress!
(they sing the Bippety Boppety Boo song, and Cinderellas dress is changed)

Cinderella and Prince Charming start singing and dancing to Time Of My Life by… someone, I forget who. The Red Queen interjects and starts singing and dancing with the prince, sometimes with both of them, or sometimes just with Cinderella, until eventually, they manage to get her out of the way.

Fairy Godmother:
Well folks, I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got time for! Now it’s back to Alice and her quest to find the missing pages! (looks at alice, causing everyone else to look, which is when everyone realises that the bad guys are behind her, they pick her up and kidnap her)

All:
Alice!!

The White Queen:
Quick! After them!!
All the characters quickly give chase and run after her, off stage, the curtains close and it’s the end of act one. The Mad Hatter comes on stage to tell the story so far.

The Mad Hatter:
How lovely to see you all again my loverly friends from afar, I am betting you are most confuseled, bamboozled and all in a kafuffle about what you may have just witnessed with your very own eyes! I am supposing you are all asking yourselves the question “What will become of Alice in the evil clutches of the flamboyantly fearsome Red Queen?! And what on earthly earth will happen to the lost story book characters?!” But you should be asking yourself a far more important question! “Will they sell tea in the interval?” I hope to see you all in the not too distant future my dear little cherubs, and I hope the same shall be said for dear Alice!

End of Act One.

Katieann Bird Hayleyy :) just gonna pop this out, but, i do believe that a few will agree, you're doing a brilliant job :) but to me it appears the mad hatter doesnt actually appear to have many lines at all? just thought i'd pop that out :)

Sarah Sharp Oooh, i see kaies point... however mad hatter gets like monologues rather than lines... so really he/she has more words to say than most of us x

Hayley Quinn Cooper yeah, i was thinking the same :/ it's hard to put him in, however, he'll have a big appearance at the end, so it makes up for it :D

Sarah Sharp I was about to ask the same aha, we'll sort it as a group... it might not need to be scripted really, just stage directions of the music kicking in and then directed/choreographed :)
